Slusser of Minneapolis, Minn., formerly of here, will be Monday in Hartman Sons funeral home, Columbus Grove. The Rev. H. J. Scheidemantle will officiate. Burial will be in Truro cemetery. Mr. Slusser died Wedneday evening in his home. Surviving are his widow, Nelle Watkins Slusser; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Reynolds, Albion, Mich., and Edith, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Broaz, Albion, and Mrs. E. H. Fruchey, Toledo. The body will arrive here Saturday and will be taken to the funeral home. After an illness of about three years she died on Thursday evening, May 21, 1925 , having reached the age of 78 years, 7 months and 23 days. In the fifties she came with her parents to Ashland county, settling near Loudonville. She was married to Mr. Columbus D. Maxwell shortly after the Civil War. One son, Curtis B. Maxwell was born to this union. On November 2, 1882 she was married to Mr. David B. Naylor, two sons, Walter and Loren were born to this union. All these children survive the mother. She is also survived by her husband and the following grandchildren: Mrs. C. B. Strang of Grove City , Pa. , Howard D. Maxwell of Columbus , Ohio , and Isaac Naylor of Jeromesville. Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon in the Lutheran church of Jeromesville , Rev. P. W. Meisenheimer of Loudonville, preaching the sermon. Burial was made in the Jeromesville cemetery. She is survived by her husband; a foster daughter, Juanita; a brother, Wesley Cunningham of Berrien Center, Mich.; a sister, Mrs. Ella Sawtell of Toledo; and three half brothers, Daniel and Arch Johnson of Columbus Grove, and Jess Johnson of Fostoria. Mrs. Simpkin’s body will remain at the Hartman Sons funeral home in Columbus Grove, where final rites will be held at 2 p.m. Friday. Rev. Ray N. Seely will conduct the services.
