He returned to his home after an absense of 10 months in Alabama and was not feeling well at the time of his arrival. His disease (malaria at first) resulted in typhoid fever, and medical skill and the best of care was of no avail, and he continued to grow worse until his sufferings were relieved by death. Austin lived and died practically without an enemy. He was kind in his disposition, affable in his manners, industrious and frugal in his habits, and possessed the rare faculty of immediately finding his way direct to the heart of everyone with whom he came in contact. He was loved for his integrity and manliness and will be greatly missed on account of his social qualities. He was one of our best and most successful teachers, and as professor of music had few equals. The funeral services were held at the Reformed church, the Rev. Sprinkle officiating. He was a consistent member of the U.B. church. Truly his life was above reproach. Few pass to their final home leaving behind a more spotless record. His father, mother, brother and sisters have the sympathy of the entire community in their sad bereavement. Was Eighty-Two Years Old. Came to Wooster From Pennsylvania in 1882. On Friday word was received here of the death of a former citizen of Wayne county, Michael Eyman, who died Friday morning at Homerville Medina county. While his death was not unexpected as he had been in bad health for months, it will prove a source of much regret and profound sorrow to the family and quite a large circle of friends both in Wayne and Medina counties, and elsewhere where he was known. Mr. Eyman was a devout Christian a more than ordinarily kind and loving father and husband. Mr. Eyman was born in Pennsylvania but came to this county with his parents in 1832 and grew to manhood on a farm a few miles west of Wooster. Several years ago, however, he moved to Medina county, where he has since lived. He was in his 32nd year and a twin brother, Christian Eyman, preceded him but a few months having died in Montana on May 12th last. He leaves a wife whose maiden name was Miss Harriet Swinehart, and three children, one son, David Eyman of Lorain, and the Misses Mary and Millie Eyman, who reside at their home near Homerville. Mr. Eyman was one of a family of nine children, all of whom are now deceased but two, Adam Eyman and Mrs. Wm. Albright, both of Wooster. The funeral services will take place from the home on Sunday at 1 p. m. No, he is not dead, but gone that mystic way That leads to peace and joy in brighter lands Where clouds of sorrow never dim the day And ne'er is felt the clasp or parting hands His pathway lies beyond our sight awhile But let us nobly live our little time And then go home to meet his radiant smile And dwell forever in that happy clime File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/oh/wayne/obits/eyman758ob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/ohfiles/ File size: 2.3 Kb -------------------------------- End of OH-BMD-D Digest V06 Issue #17 ************************************
