(sic Ross County, Ohio), died 10:47 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 1998, in the Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness. She was born Feb. 7, 1934, in Vinton County, to WENDELL OAKES and EVELYN PETIT OAKES. Surviving are her father, of Londonderry, son and daughter-in-law, TIM A. and PATRICIA M. STOUT, Chillicothe; grandchildren, KRISTI WALKER, CHAD STOUT and BRYAN STOUT; sister and brother-in-law, LINDA and WOODY ADAMS, Chillicothe; sister, SHIRLEY JONES, Tennessee; brothers and sisters-in-law, FRED and LUCY OAKES, DANNY and KAY OAKES and ROY and LINDA OAKES, all of Chillicothe, and LARRY and PAT OAKES, Alabama; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, WILLIAM MOORE, of Chillicothe. She was predeceased by her mother and former husband, DONALD R. STOUT. Rose was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and formerly owned Pleasure Travel and was a former co-owner of Stouties Carry Out and Greyhound Bus Terminal. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the Ware Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call at Ware’s from 6- 8 p.m. Thursday. DEWEY, age 76, of Frankfort (Ross County, Ohio), died at 10 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, 1996 at Valley View Care Center in Frankfort. He was born February 8, 1920 in Washington Court House (Fayette County, Ohio), the son of MACK DEWEY and VIRGIE (MOORE) DEWEY. Mr. Dewey was a retired timberman, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of Joseph Ellsworth White American Legion Post 483. Survivors include his wife, MAXINE (TEMPLE) DEWEY, whom he married on January 21, 1946; one daughter and son-in-law, DIANA and ROBERT SPEAKMAN of Washington C.H.; one son and daughter-in-law, NICK and KATHY DEWEY of Frankfort; sister ELLENE STORTS of Frankfort; brothers and sisters-in-law, HARLEY and MAG DEWEY of Beaver, OH and CHARLES and EDITH ANN DEWEY of Waverly; sisters-in-law DOROTHY BOSSERT, VIOLA LYKINS, and MARIAN SHAFFER and her husband, IVAN; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, BOYD DEWEY. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 7, at the Fisher-Anderson-Ebright Funeral Home in Frankfort, with the Rev. Jack Norman officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Frankfort, where military honors will be accorded by the Frankfort American Legion.
