Glick Taken By Death Rites Are Saturday For Arlington Man Andrew J. “Andy” Glick, 72, Arlington, died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Blanchard Valley Hospital. He had been ailing for the past two years and seriously ill for the past nine months. Mr. Glick was born May 10, 1884, in Van Buren Township, the son of John and Louisa (Baumunk) Glick. He married Elizabeth Hannewald May 6, 1909. She survives. Six children survive. They are Harold, St. Marys; Harold, Arlington; Mrs. Doris Massie, Toledo; Esther Boyhtari, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; Marian Ruth Casper. Harrod: and Herbert, Arlington. One son, Paul, died in infancy. There are five grandchildren. Also surviving are a half brother, William Neff, Van Buren Township; and a half-sister. Mrs. Emma Line, Arlington. One brother, Harmon, is deceased. Mr. Glick was a member of the Good Hope Lutheran Church. Following his early years of farming, Mr. Glick worked as a mechanic at the Arlington Ford garage. He then spent 13 years as a custodian at Arlington High School and 10 years at the Arlington Hardware. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Good Hope Lutheran Church, the Rev. Willard Drefke officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery. The body will remain at the Dally Funeral Home until 1 p.m. Saturday when it will be taken to the church. Glick Called By Death Rites Thursday for Van Buren Twp. Man Harmon O. Glick, 67, Van Buren Township farmer, died at 1:35 p.m. Tuesday in Blanchard Valley Hospital of a cerebral hemorrhage. He had been ill for two years. A son of John and Louise (Baumunk) Glick, he was born Sept. 25, 1888 in Van Buren Township. On Nov. 27, 1913 he married Esther E. Pifer who survives with a son, Dr. Dallas Glick, Rochester, Minn; a daughter, Dorothy Glick, Columbus; and one grandchild. Surviving also are a brother, Andrew Glick, Arlington; half-sister, Mrs. Emma Line, Arlington; and half-brother, J. W. Neff, Van Buren Township. One brother and nine sisters are dead. He was born March 6, 1925 in Arlington to Andrew and Elizabeth (Hannewald) Glick. He married Miriam Beckman on May 25, 1954, and she died Oct. 3. 1980. Surviving are three sons, Timothy H. of Findlay, Jeffrey J. and Gregory L., both of Arlington; a daughter Mrs. Joseph (Sandra K.) Votruba, Findlay; five grandchildren; a brother Harold of St. Mary’s; and two sisters, Doris Massie, Toledo; Mrs. Walter (Miriam Ruth) Casper, west Minster. He was preceded in death by a brother, Howard, and a sister, Ester Boyhatari. Mr. Glick was retired, having been self-employed. He was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church, Arlington. He was former member of Arlington American Legion, a former village fireman and former village marshal. He was an Air force veteran of World War II. (Vicki) Glick of Findlay; two sisters, Thelma L. Long of Bluffton and Mrs. Merritt (Doris Ann) Redick of Dublin, CA. She was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine L. Romick and two brothers, Robert and Jack Krout. She was a member of Good Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, Arlington and also a 50+ year member of the Order of the Eastern Star #23, Findlay. J. Fishell on West Sandusky street Saturday morning at 9:30 o’clock, while he was waiting to get a treatment for his eyes. Coroner R. D. Whistler of Benton Ridge was called and pronounced death due to apoplexy. Mr. Glick made his home with his son L. G. Glick of 430 Garfield avenue since the death of his wife two years ago. He was born in Findlay, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Glick and had always made this place his home. He was married to Miss Mary Swab in 1880 and to them was born one son L. G. Glick of this city. The body was taken to Renshler’s Undertaking Parlors from Dr. Fishel’s office. The funeral will be held from the son’s home this afternoon at 2 o’clock, rev. W. D. Van Voorhis to officiate. Doris was born in Arlington, OH on January 18, 1916 the daughter of the late Andrew and Elizabeth (Hannawald) Glick. She married Edgar B. Massie on January 1, 1937 and he died March 11, 1947. Surviving is a sister Miriam Ruth Casper of Hillsboro, OH. She was preceded in death by three brothers Harold, Howard and Herbert Glick, sister Esther Boyhtari and longtime friend Raymond Finnety on May 22, 2004. Doris worked as a sales clerk for 40 years at LaSalle's Department Store, a 1932 graduate of Arlington High School, and a 1936 graduate of Capital University. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Thursday at COYLE FUNERAL HOME, Toledo and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Arlington, OH. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Good Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, Arlington, with Rev. Steven Ramsey officiating.
