Neff, a cousin EDWARD ROY NEFF, 57 CANFIELD – Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church, Lecanto, Fla., for Edward Roy Neff, 57, of Lecanto, formerly of Youngstown and Canfield, who died Sunday at home of a heart ailment. Mr. Neff was born March 4, 1943, in Youngstown, a son of Edward Leroy and Martha Cummings Neff, and had lived in Citrus County for 10 years. He owned and operated Palm Terrace Village, a senior living community, and had worked 17 years for First Federal Savings and Loan Co. in Miami, where he became president of Amerifirst Mortgage Corp. He also was founder and president of Quic-Docs, the first mortgage document preparation company in Florida. He graduated from Canfield High School in 1961 and attended Bowling Green State University. He served in the Army, and was a member of the Young- Lakemen Life Group and the Dr. Jay Newcomer Discipleship Group of the church. He leaves his parents of Phoenix, Ariz.; his wife, the former Cheryl Fumi Sakai, whom he married April 30, 1983; a son, Michael Raymond Neff of Tallahassee, Fla.; a daughter, Sharon Elizabeth Neff of Littleton, Colo.; a sister, Nancy Jo Neff of Phoenix; and a brother, William Bruce Neff of Canfield. A brother, Gary Reed Neff, is deceased. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are by Hooper Funeral Home in Inverness, Fla. Contributions may be made to the church’s building fund, 4221 Gulf to Lake Highway, Lecanto, Fla. 34461. Mr. Neff was born Nov. 13, 1953, in Canfield, a son of Edward and Martha Neff. Deming, who was taken to the Youngstown hospital to be treated for meningitis, died about midnight Tuesday [6 June 1922]. Her age was seven years and six months. Funeral services held from the family home on South Broad Street. Thursday afternoon [8 June 1922] at 2:30 were conducted by Rev. C.L. Cope. Interment in the Village Cemetery. Deming, died at the family home on Mygatt street last Friday night [10 Sep 1926] at 11:43 of infantile paralysis after an illness of only two days. He was in school Wednesday but complained in the evening of not feeling well. His condition grew steadily worse until the end came unexpectedly. Deceased was born in Canfield Nov. 12, 1911, and a great favorite with companions. He attended the public schools and the Methodist church and Sunday school. Besides his parents he is survived by twin brothers, Ray and Roy. Private funeral services were held Sunday afternoon [12 Sep 1926] from the home in charge of Rev. H.A. Cassidy, pastor of the Methodist church, and burial was in the village cemetery.
