Charles Barnes, 69, 225 McClain av. (Highland County, Ohio), died Sunday at 6:30 p.m. in Grant Hospital, Columbus. Born May 22, 1902, in Lexington, Ky., he was a son of George and Mary Woolums Barnes. On Aug. 6, 1949, he married the former Elnora Jones, who survives. He was a retired employe of the U.S. Shoe Corporation, where he had worked for 27 years. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons and seven daughters, Benny, Perry L. and Patricia Ann Barnes, all of Greenfield, Mrs. Lewis (Louise) Weller, of Cincinnati, Mrs. William (Chloe) Garrison, of Worthington, Mrs. James (Ida) Albright, of Columbus, Mrs. Chris Mathews, Boston, Miss., Mrs. Dale (Jeanne) Wilkin, of Grove City, and Mrs. Maurice (Maxine) Shady, Greenfield Rt. 3; 22 grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Rhoda Van Winkle and Mrs. Marie Van Winkle, both of Richmond, Ky., and Mrs. Cinda Hall, of Lexington, Ky. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Arthur Alexander officiating. Interment will be made in Roads Cemetery.
