We must inform you that we are now living in Harveysburg with Isaac and we received your letter on the 13th of this month which rendered us great satisfaction indeed to hear from you. You did not write to us whether you have bought land in that country or not. If you have not bought then we feel desirous that you would come down here and buy here as land is so much cheaper here than there and produces better. I think you had better come. We must inform you that we want you to write to us as soon as you can and if you have bought there, I want you to sell and come here or else come and take me and the old woman there with you. Crops looks well both corn and wheat and all other kinds of crops and abundance of fruit. George has bought a farm near Harveysburg and is desirous that you would come and join with him in a distillery. It is one of the greatest seats that you ever saw and good land. John Cazort has bought land and is living on it. It is lying on the Roving Branch. We can't inform you much about Jacob nor Henry nor their families. Jacob is now living on the old man Thurston's place and Henry has sold his farm on conditions. We have not received no letters but the last one that you wrote dated April the 9th 1831. Isaac and Sally has got no increase of family yet. They have had one daughter and called it Moriah, but they had the misfortune to lose it. It died the seventh day after it was born, and we are feeling desirous to see you and your lady. Come to this country to live here. The girls is both single yet Ruth says that she will go if you come after her. But she would rather you would come to this country. She wants to be where she can see the old people as they are getting almost helpless and they want to live with you the balance of their days. So I think you had better move to this country for they are not able to travel they are getting so helpless. So I think that you ought to assist them. So no more at present, but remaining your father and mother, sisters and brothers until death. Still send your letters to Waynesville, Warren County, Wayne Township. Additional Comments: This letter was sent by Nathaniel Cassad and his wife, along with their son Isaac and his wife Sarah, to Nathaniel's other son, Daniel, who lived in Greene County PA. "George" refers to George Carpenter, Nathaniel's daughter Susannah's husband; and "Henry" probably refers to the husband of his daughter Mariah, Henry Clark. I have corrected spelling and some punctuation and grammar in the letter to make it more readable.
