Deceased was born in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, August 11, 1814, and in early life moved with her people to Wayne County, Ohio, where she was married. She came with her husband and family to Iowa in 1854 and in 1855 settled on a farm in Berlin Township, Clinton County, where she resided until 1894, two years after the death of her husband, when she moved to Maquoketa. Deceased was an excellent woman, the mother of a large family and always devoted to her domestic affairs. Six of her eight children survive her, to-wit: A. B., and Maria Correll, Marion, Samuel and Levi Correll, Parsons, Kansas; David Correll, Odebolt, Iowa. Always conscientious and God-fearing it was in her 85th year that Mrs. Correll joined the Reformed Church in Maquoketa and remained a faithful member to her death. The funeral was held from the home at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, Rev. D. F. Boomershine officiating, and the remains laid to rest beside those of her husband in the Berlin Township Cemetery.
