It was the lot of the deceased, in her youth , to be placed in the heart of the Revolutionary War, where, besides the suffering and distress to which we all were exposed, she was separated from all her relations, never to meet in this life. Soon afterwards, she emigrated to the Western Country and was among the first settlers in the Wilderness in the now state of Ohio. Here again she had to encounter the perils of relentless Indian wars, under circumstances peculiarly distressing. She met and sustained these too with firmness, and having lived to see the wilderness, emphatically, blossom as the rose, she gradually sunk under the accumulated diseases of a broken constitution. She has left children, grand children and Great grand children to lament their loss.
