For several years he had been declining in health, his last illness being of a few weeks’ duration. Mr. Hudson will be well remembered by the older residents of this locality. He was born and reared a short distance south of Blanchester. In his early life he operated a livery stable at Morrow, and later on in Blanchester. He was for many years prominent in Republican politics in this section of Ohio. Many persons will probably remember his best as the owner of the famous race horse, Highland Queen. A son, Ralph, served for 20 years in the navy and preceded his father in death two years ago. The Hudsons moved to California in 1914, where he again served as postmaster at Perris until 1928. Mr. and Mrs. Hudson last visited in this community three years ago this summer, renewing old acquaintances in this section at the time. Surviving besides the widow, Mrs. Blanche Hudson, are a sister, Mrs. Mary F. Hutchinson, of San Diego, Calif.; three nieces, all living in California; and three nephews, Howard G. Hudson, of Wilmington; John Hudson, Jr., of Madisonville, and Elbridge L. Hudson, of Madiera. Funeral services were held at Perris, Calif., on Friday Morning with interment at that place.
