Death was due to infirmities, an attack of influenzathat he suffered two weeks ago hastening the end. Mr. Mellor was one of thesons of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Mellor. He was born in what was at the time Union township on February 10, 1840. For many years he lived on a farm in Warren townshiop. He was a carpenter by trade and had worked for a number of years on contract work in this city. For the past 18 years, he made his home on Fairview Heights. He as a member of the 148th regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry, recruited by the late Col. T. W. Moore during the Civil War. He was a member of the Washington County Veterans' Association. His wife, who was Miss Catherine Wright, of the county, died 12 years ago. Surviving him are two sons and three daughters: Jesse Mellor, of Bloomington, Ill; Frank Mellor, of Wichita, Kan.; Mrs. Henry Sann, of Waverly, Kan.; and Mrs. A. A. Pinkerton and Mrs. F. S. Bishop of Marietta. Mrs. Bishop made her home with her father. The is one half-brother, Jessee Mellor, of Waverly, Kan., and 20 grandchildren and 22 greatgrandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the home at 1:30 o'clock on Tuesday afternoon with Rev. W. W. McClure officiating. Interment will be made in Bethel cemetery in Warren Twp.
