Lang 1mercury@cox.net August 11, 2007, 10:11 am Marietta Times, pg. 7, col. 3, Jan 24, 1938 PERLEY PINKERTON, WASHINGTON SCHOOL JANITOR, IS TAKEN Mr. Perley Pinkerton, 63, for 18 years a resident of Marietta, died at his home, 301 Elm Street, at 8:30 pm, Saturday, following a decline in health. For the last 12 years Mr. Pinkerton had been employed as a stationary engineer at the Washington Street school. Prior to that period he was an engineer for the Hall Grindstone Company and for the Constitution Stone Company. He was born in Warren Township, a son of the late Calvert and Addie Stage Pinkerton. On October 9, 1901, he married Miss Rosa Barth. The widow survives. There is also a daughter, Mrs. Nina Caldwell of Parkersburg, W. Va., and one son, Leland C. Pinkerton of Findlay. There is one grandchild, Dorothy Ann Pinkerton, and two sisters. The latter are Mrs. William Berry of Belpre Route 1 and Mrs. Hugh Seffens of Belpre Route 2. Before removing to Marietta, the family resided in Dunham Township. Mr. Pinkerton was a member of the Cutler U. B. Church and of the Men's Bible Class of the Gilman avenue of the M. E. Church in Harmar. He was a member of Harmar Lodge No. 115, I.O.O.F., of the J. E. McCoy Lodge No. 230, Daughters of Rebekah, of Harmar Lodge No. 390, F. & A. M., and of Raynald Lodge No. 82, Knights of Pythias. Funeral services are to be held at the Gilman Avenue M. E. Church at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Rev. H. V. McCleary is to officiate. There will be Masonic services at the grave, conducted by Harmar Lodge No. 390. Burial will be in the Brabham cemetery. Additional Comments: I have no further information on this family.
