Daniel Reed
Daniel Torpy Reed, youngest son of Thomas Jefferson and Martha Reed, was born 
at Marietta, Ohio on January 27, 1885 and departed this life at Cass County 
Memorial Hospital at Harrisonville, Mo. on April 24, 1966 at the age of 81 
years, 2 months and 28 days.

He was united in marriage to Nancy Jane Sells on Oct. 3, 1923.  To this union 
were born five children.  He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Claude at the 
age of 2 years and 9 months; Raymond Lowren who died in infancy; 1 brother 
Warner; and 3 sisters Zella, Eva, and Anne.

He was a firm believer in God.

He leaves to morn his passing his wife, Nancy of the home; 1 son Charles 
Lester of Mountain View, Mo.; 2 daughters Doris Ashton of Wentzville, Mo. and 
Dollie Fishbaucher of Holden, Mo.; 13 grandchildren, 3 nephews; 3 nieces and a 
host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held April 28 at LIttle Zion Baptist Church with the 
Rev. James E. Duncan officiating and burial in the Walker Chapel cemetary 
under the direction of the Duncan Funeral Home.

Additional Comments:
He was previously married to Mrs. Minnie Fair on July 21, 1915 in Mo.  His 
parents are buried in Walker Chapel Cemetery as well. He outlived all of his 
siblings.
