Obituary:
Miss Martha Elizabeth Smith was born in Noble County, Ohio, April 12, 1850.  
She was united in marriage to Jeff Reed, January 21, 1875.  To this union were 
born five children, three girls and two boys, one of the boys being taken away 
at the age of 16.

She departed from this life on Thursday, May 17, 1917, at the home of her 
daughter, Mrs. Eva Walker.

She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, four children, two sisters, one 
brother, six grandchildren, and a host of friends.

The funeral services were conducted by Brother Callison; at one o'clock, 
Friday afternoon at Walkers Chapel.

The remains were laid in the Walkers Chapel cemetery.

We extend our sympathy to the bereaved ones.

Additional Comments:
The above obituary is a little misleading.  Martha was born in Noble Twp., 
Morgan Co., OH not Noble Co.  She is the daughter of Thomas Green Smith and 
Elizabeth Sissell (Cecil).  Martha actually had more children than stated 
above.  At least one unnamed infant is buried in Tunnel Cemetery, Warren Twp., 
Washington Co., OH.  Martha passed away in Wichita, Sedgwick Co., KS where her 
daughter was living at the time.  The parents of Martha actually live out 
their life in Washington Co., OH and brother Lenox Smith died in Grant, 
Jackson Co., WV.
