HOSEA FORTNEY

Hosey Fortney, 66, of Route 1,Belpre, died Saturday at his residence following a
brief illness. He was born in Macfarlan, son of the late Roland Weaver and Mary
Louiza Nelson Fortney. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a retired electrician
and was a long-time member of the IBEW Local No. 972. He was also a member of
the Disabled American Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Betty Lou Fortney; three sons, Robert R.
Fortney of Washington state, Hosea Fortney,Jr. of Parkersburg, Brian D. Fortney
of Belpre; five daughers, Carol A. Lancaster, Susan K. Fortney and Pamela L.
Lynn, all of Belpre, C. Dianne Murray of Marietta, and Bonnie J. Wigal of
Palestine; 11 grandchildren; two brothers, Verner E. Fortney of Coolville, and
I. Vaughn Fortney of North Carolina; three sisters, Bernice M. Goff of Belpre,
Joan Baker and June Cooper, both of Marietta.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre, with
Pastor David Sommerville officiating. Burial will be in Rockland Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday
