Sampson, 76, died about 4:30 p.m. yesterday at his home in Waterford. He was born Oct.30. 1892, in Waterford Twp., a son of the late Peter and Rebecca Holliday Sampson. On June 12, 1918, he was married to Caro Stacey, who survives. Mr. Sampson was a retired employee of Washington County Highway Dept. and had also worked at Stouts Hdwe Store in Waterford. He was a member of Waterford United Methodist Church and Modern Woodmen Lodge 6730. One son, Wayne of Cuyahoga Falls, and a daughter, Mrs Elmer ( Maxine ) Fisher of Stockport Rt 2 survive with nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. One sister, Mrs Lucy Beebe of Waterford survives. Two brothers and five sisters are deceased. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in McCurdy Funeral Home, Beverly, with the Rev. Wesley Thatcher officiating. Burial will be in Waterford Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. Marietta Times Thursday, July 16, 1992 pg A8 BEVERLY- Caro Sampson, 95, Beverly, a former resident of Waterford, died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday ( July 15, 1992 ) in Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Waterford United Methodist Church. She was born May 18, 1897, at Watertown to Clyde and Nellie Burchett Stacy. She married Carl Sampson on June 12, 1918. He died April 2, 1969. She was also preceded in death by seven sisters and one brother. Mrs Sampson is survived by one daughter, Mrs Elmer ( Maxine ) Fisher of Beverly, with whom she had made her home for the past five years; one son, Wayne of Cuyahoga Falls; nine grandchildren; 18 great- grandchildren; one brother Cecil Stacy of Marietta; and one sister, Mrs Marjorie Hardy of Marietta. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in McCurdy Funeral Home at Beverly with the Rev. Douglas Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Waterford Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
