Fix Charles Adam, son of George and Elizabeth Fix, was born in St. Joe township, October 18, 1863 and departed this life July 18, 1923, aged 59 years and 9 months. On February 23, 1887 he was united in marriage to Jennie Schaaf. To this union were born two children, Elmer James and Inez May. Soon after marriage Mr. Fix moved on a farm in St. Joe township where he and his wife fought the commercial battles of life for 33 years until failing health caused him to leave his farm three years ago and move to Edgerton where they bought a home on North Michigan Ave., and there he lived until death claimed him A number of years ago he became a member of the Knights of Pythias order and remained a member until death. One year ago last February he was baptized into the Church of Christ and was always found in the services every Lord's Day until 10 months ago when he was stricken with paralysis. Mr. Fix was an exemplary citizen, a kind father and loving husband, but best of all a Christian. He leaves to mourn his departure a wife, two children, five grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Noah Reichman, of Bryan, and one brother, N. J. Fix, of Pioneer and many other relatives and friends. Funeral was held Saturday a. m. from the Church of Christ conducted by the pastor, J. Evard Smith, and interment in Maple Grove Cemetery. "The pains of death are passed, Labor and sorrow cease; And life's long warfare closed at last. His soul is found in peace. Soldier of Christ, well done! Praise by thy new employ! And while eternal ages run, Rest in thy Saviour's joy." CARD OF THANKS We desire to express our heartfelt thanks to all our friends and neighbors who assisted during our hours of sad bereavement, for the words and acts of sympathy; for the many beautiful floral offerings, the minister for his com- forting words and the ladies for the beautiful singing.
