Presbyterian banner. (Pittsburgh, Pa.) 1860-1898: July 29, 1863
Died in the hospital at Memphis, Tenn., on the 9th of March, 1863, of typhoid fever,
Mr. Gavin McHenry, in the 31st year of his age; a resident of Williams County, Ohio.
Mr. McHenry was received into the communion of the West Bethesda Presbyterian
church, in the year 1855, in which he manifested a walk worthy of his profession and
was elected in 1861, a Ruling Elder in said church. In September, 1862 he enlisted
at his country's call, and joined the army, in Co. K, 68th Reg't. O. V., to which he
belonged until the time of his death. He leaves a wife one small son, and a number
of relatives to mourn their loss...
