She was baptized in infancy and at the proper age confirmed. In the year 1869 she emigrated to the United States and came directly to Ohio. In 1870 she united in marriage to Martin Wagner. God blessed this union with seven children, of whom six are living yet; their names are George and Willie Wagner, Barbara Haeusaier, Margretha Dykau, Mathilde Knecht and Maria Thrapp. Although Edon was the home of the Wagner family, they moved in later years to Bryan. In the year 1912, Mr. Wagner preceded his wife in death. Since then, Mrs. Wagner lived with her children and most of the time with her daughter, Mary Thrapp. Since the first part of March Mrs. Wagner has been on the sick list, and the last four weeks she was completely confined to her bed. September 19, shortly before six o’clock in the morning, she was taken away by a peaceful death from this world, attaining an age of 71 years, two months and seven days. She leaves to mourn her six children, four sons-in-law, two daughters-in-law, 15 grandchildren, and many friends. The funeral services were held on September 21, in the Germany Lutheran Church of Edon, O., and the remains laid to rest in the Edon cemetery. Revs. F. Heckelmann and A. Hueter officiating. May she rest in peace. Gone But Not Forgotten A precious one from us has gone; A voice we loved is stilled; A place is vacant in our home, Which never can be filled. God in his wisdom has recalled The boon his love has given And though the body slumbers here The soul is safe in heaven. Card of thanks " We wish to extend our sincere thanks to the kind friends and neighbors who assisted us during the illness and death of our beloved mother, and also for the beautiful floral offerings and to those who assisted in singing and to the Revs. F. Henkelmann of Bryan and A. Hueter of Edon for their consoling words. " The Children.
