Perrysburg, Wood County, Ohio. May 4, 1866, p. 3. Died. Suddenly, at the house of Dr. H. Burritt, in Maumee City, on Sunday, April 15, 1866, Mrs. Alta M., wife of William H. Burritt, and daughter of Rev. Joseph Ayres, of the Central Ohio Conference M.E. Church. In this case, Death chose a shining mark. She was not only taken away suddenly, but in the bloom of life, being only in her 20th year. The threefold tender ties of Daughter, Sister and Wife have been suddenly parted. But, though her friends feel bereft, and miss the cheerful and sunny smiles that emanated from an amiable and gentle spirit, they mourn not as those "who mourn without hope." What comfort now to know that in her twelfth year she sought the Lord, and united with the M.E. Church and has now only exchanged her home and friends on earth, to join and live forever with the blood-washed throng, where, "With the saints of all ages in harmony meet Their savior and brethren transported to greet; Where the anthems of glory unceasingly roll, And the smile of the Lord is the feast of the soul."
