Perrysburg, Wood County, Ohio. Jul 26, 1860, p. 3 DIED. July 15th at Eagle river Michigan of hemorage [sic] Mrs. Louisa Crook wife of Robert Crook, aged 53 years. At the age of seventeen she with her parents emigrated to Perrysburg, where she resided up to the time of her death. For some months she was afflicted with dropsy, and in hopes that a change of climate would be beneficial she went to Eagle river Michigan. But the purer and more refreshing atmosphere of the north could not stay the approach of death. On the eighth she was seized hemorage which terminated in death. Her remains were brought back and on the 9th were entered in the cemetery. For a number of years she had been a member of the M.E. Church, and for some months past have been specially exercised in reference to a fitness for death. Her friends visited and prayed with her, and she expressed a resignation to the will of God. And when death came ti [sic] found her ready, and now she rests where sickness, sorrow pain and death are fiet no more. She has left a family and a large connection of relatives to mourn her loss. Thus one after another of our older citizens are passing away, and each providence says to those remaining, be ye also ready, for in such an hour as ye think not, the son of man cometh. J.F.
