Esquire George W. Callin received word this morning of the death of his brother, John H. Callin, aged 73 years, who died of kidney trouble this morning at one o'clock at his home in Fostoria. His funeral will be held Thursday forenoon at ten o'clock from his late residence. His body will be brought to Bowling Green and laid beside those of other members of his family in Oak Grove Cemetery. He was born in Ashland county in 1840. The deceased lived for many years in the vicinity of Bowling Green where he taught school for some twenty years. He enlisted at Bowling Green in the 21st Ohio Battery where he served for nearly three years, returning here at the close of the war. Outside of Mr. George W. Callin, of this place, the deceased had no brothers or sisters living, but the following children still survive him, together with a number of grandchildren, other relatives and many friends: Byron H. Callin and Wells Callin of Montana; Mrs. George Matcham, of Oberlin, O.; John Callin and Prentice Callin, both of Fostoria; Ray Callin attending college at Gambier, O.
