Perrysburg Journal. Perrysburg, Wood County, Ohio. Oct 21, 1915. Page 4. Rudolph Danz was born in Berne, Switzerland, March 6, 1846, and died at his home in Perrysburg October 12, 1915, aged 69 years 7 months 6 days. He received his early education in Switzerland and at the age of 21 came to this country, first locating in Cleveland, O., where he decided to learn the baker's trade. He afterwards removed to Kenton, O., and finally, through the influence of friends, came to Perrysburg in the year 1871, where he continued his residence until death. There being no bakery here at that time, he opened a store and bake shop and pursued this line of business for 29 years. About 15 years ago, not being able to continue the strenuous life of his chosen work, he sold out and engaged in selling notions and school supplies, until not quite a year ago he gave up business altogether on account of failing health. Jun 26, 1873, he was united in marriage with Rosetta Mathias. Their home was blessed with six children - five daughters and one son. One daughter, Helen, a devoted and sweet Christian character, beloved by all, preceded her father to the heavenly land in the month of March, 1912. Mr. Danz united with the Evangelical church in 1883, and served as class leader for 30 years, and as Sunday School superintendent for about 20 years, and rendered faithful service as a teacher in various classes. He also held important offices in the church. He was a faithful servant of the Master and answered the last call with a firm faith in a life beyond the shadow. He leaves to mourn his departure a loving wife, two brothers, three sisters, also four daughters and one son - Mrs Mary Cornelius and Mrs. Julia Roether of Toledo; Mrs. Lillian Scott, Miss Laura Danz and Mr. Harry Danz of Perrysburg; also five grandchildren and a large circle of friends and neighbors. The funeral services were held at the Evangelical church on Friday last, conducted by Rev. Vandersall, and the earthly remains placed at rest in Ft. Meigs cemetery.
