Perrysburg, Wood County, Ohio. May 25, 1866, p. 3. Died. On Tuesday evening, the 15th inst., at Bowling Green, Ohio, John Evers, Esq., father of the Sheriff of this county, aged 54 years. Mr. Evers was a native of Maryland, but removed to the Maumee Valley in 1834, in which he resided to the time of his death. For the past five years his life has been a continued struggle with disease, which has slowly but surely led him to the grave. It is a satisfaction, however, to know that he was prepared for that change through which he has passed. For twelve years he had been a member of the Presbyterian Church, exemplifying by his life the integrity of a true Christian, and possessing the blessed hope of immortality through the merit of our Divine Redeemer. The funeral services took place at Bowling Green, were conducted by Rev. G.A. Adams, of Perrysburg, and attended by a large concourse of the friends and neighbors of the deceased. By the decease of John Evers, this community has lost an honest and upright member, and our country a patriotic and self-denying citizen.
