Perrysburg, Wood County, Ohio. Jan 31, 1868, p. 3. DIED. At Bowling Green, Wood County, Ohio, on Wednesday, January 22, 1868, of Liver Complaint, George Hood, aged 57 years. For many years Mr. Hood was engaged in the mercantile business in the city of New York. Having acquired a competency, he retired from business, and by travel and change of climate sought to restore his impaired health. Such efforts for a time appeared beneficial, but disease had such a hold upon his once vigorous constitution that it slowly carried him to the grave - the place appointed for all living. Wherever known Mr. Hood was respected, and beloved. He possessed a large share of varied information, and fine conversational ability, which combined with keen powers of observation, made his society at all times instructive, and pleasant. By his decease, society has lost a valuable member, his associates a true friend, and his family an affectionate and faithful brother. His funeral took place at Bowling Green, on Sunday January 26th, and was attended by a large concourse of citizens. The funeral services were impressively performed by the Rev. J. MaCarty.
