DIED.

	At Knoxville, Tenn., October 4, 1863, of typhoid fever, Captain Emanuel 
Kauffman, Company I, 100th Regiment, O.V.I.

	Captain Kauffman died, as he lived, a Christian.  His last words 
were: "Glory! Glory! That's what's the matter!"  He leaves a wife and nine 
children to mourn his loss.  May God comfort and keep them.
