Cyrus Kelly, one of the oldest pioneers of Wood county, dropped from the ranks very suddenly, at his home one mile north of New Rochester, January 2. Stomach and kidney trouble brought on by exposure and hardships while in the army, from which he suffered untold pain and misery for the past 34 years, was the cause of his death. Deceased was born in Wayne county November 4, 1827, and came to Wood county with his father when three years old. He enlisted in Company L. Second heavy artillery, July 11, 1863.
