Perrysburg, Wood County, Ohio. Nov 24, 1859, p. 3. Obituary. DIED -- at his residence in Portage, on the 12th of November, 1859, of Congestive Fever - James McFadden, Esq., in the 43d year of his age. Mr. McFadden had resided several years in this place, and filled several offices of trust during the time. He was once a soldier and officer in Mexico, and while there contracted his death malady, and lived only twenty-four hours after taking sick. He was Captain of the Portage Guards at the time of his decease, and was buried with military honors, J.L. Roller commanding the company. Immediately after the funeral, the Guards repaired to the Knaggs House, and after organizing passed the following resolutions: Resolved. That we deeply feel the loss of our honored Captain; that the community in general has lost a valuable man, and this place one of its most prominent citizens. Resolved, That we deeply sympathize with the widow of the deceased, and that a copy of this notice and these resolutions be presented to her.
