Perrysburg Journal. Perrysburg, Wood County, Ohio. Apr 3, 1901, Page 1. Buckhart Michael Roether, notice of whose death was given in last week's Journal, was born in Adelsheim, Baden, Germany, August 30, 1824. The funeral services were conducted at the German Lutheran church, by Rev. Ide, on Sunday last and were witnessed by a large number of friends and neighbors and his bereaved family. When a young man, he became dissatisfied with his home country, Germany, and like many others, came to America, the new world, and after visiting various localities, he finally located in Wood County, then known as the black swamp, late in the '40s. In 1850 he married Catherine Hahn, who preceeded him to a better world in 1891. To them were born 11 children - eight of whom still live - five boys and three girls. Mr. Roether was a highly respected citizen, and lived a quiet, christian life, the last ten years of which were greatly saddened by the loss of his estimable wife. Thus, one by one, the early settlers are passing away.
