The announcement of his death was received with some degree of surprise by those with whom he was most intimate, as it was known that he was about performing his customary advocations a few days prior to his demise. On Saturday preceding his death he complained of not being well but, feeling better the next morning, attended church and in doing this it seems he contracted a severe cold, and the following day, unable longer to endure the difficulties brought to bear upon him be took to his bed and from that time on sank rapidly, owing no doubt to his advanced age. His complaint, was pleuro pneumonia, and was sick only six days, but during that time his suffering was very severe. His funeral took place on Monday morning from St. Peter's Catholic Church, Rev. Father Braschler officiating. The deceased was native of Baden, Germany, and emigrated to America in 1852, locating in this city, where he has ever since resided. Nine children were borne to the husband and wife, only one of whom, Henry, is still living. Mr. Orians, during his long residence here was a good, quiet and in dustrious citizen, and was respected and esteemed by all who knew him. Peace to his ashes. -
