Burial followed at the Barber Cemetery under the direction of the Reed-Culver Funeral Home. Pallbearers included Jeff Davis, Michael Davis, David Looney, Charley Buckhorn, Bryan Chuculate and Kevin Davis. Honorary pallbearers included Wayne Davis, Junior Bush, Johnny Stayhome and Melvin Pack. Jim Davis was born December 21, 1912 in Cherokee county the son of George Alexander and Melvina (Hammons) Davis and he passed from this life on Thursday, April 18, 2002 in Tahlequah. Jim grew up in Cherokee County and lived his entire life around Bunch. He was married to Ruby Chuculate, December 17, 1941. He was a farmer, rancher and loved fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Doyle James Davis, sisters, Mary Pack and Stella Pack and brothers, Robert Davis and George Davis. He is survived by his wofe Ruby of the home, 4 daughters and their husbands, Dollie (Herschel) Looney of Vian, Sue (Leon) Buckhorn of Briggs, Bonnie (Harold) Davis of Stilwell and Wanda (Charley) Ridge of Welling. 7 sons and their wives, Harley (Margie) Davis of Welling, Virgil Chuculate of Dallas, TX, Raymond (Letha) Davis of Ft. Worth, TX, Andrew (Lynn) Davis of Park Hill, Charles (Lucinda) Davis of Cookson, James (Tammy) Davis of Barber and Richard Davis of the home. Foster son Ted (Leslie) Heath of Bunch. Brothers, Archie Davis of Nowata and Louie and his wife Daisey Davis of Welling. Sisters, Beulah Pack of Hungry Mountain and Becky Shepard of Etta Bend. Mr. Davis also leaves behind 38 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren and very special friend Rose Murphy alson with many other relatives, loved ones and friends.
