Selan Hall, son of E. R. and Doris (Goode) Hall wa born July 3, 1922 in Paris, AR and passed from life to death to eternal life on May 8, 2002 in Springdale, AR. at the age of 79 years, 10 months and 4 days. Selan's family moved to Stilwell in 1932. He graduated from Stilwell High School and attended NSU. He entered into the US Army/Air Force in 1942. He was stationed in Karache, India during WWII. where he received many honors including, The Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon, WWII. Victory Ribbon and the AP Theater Ribbon. He was commissioned agent for Sinclair, Atlantic Richfield and DX Oil Companies for 34 years before retiring. He was a faithful member of the First Christian Church serving as Deacon and Sunday School Teacher, he was an avid fisherman and everyone in his presence was blessed by his humor and generosity. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Selan Hall, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Ama Mae Hall of Stilwell; one daughter, Mareese Robbins and husband Jack of Carthage, MO; 2 grandchildren, Gina Scherqitz and husband Scot of Cumberland, RI and Greta Nichols and husband John of Carthage, MO; one great-grandchild, Joseph Reese Nichols of Carthage, MO; one brother Ertel Ray Hall, Jr. of Enid, OK; one sister, Doris Jo Reed and husband Gene of Stilwell, he is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends. Funeral services were held Friday May 10, 2002 in the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Chapel with Jack Steele, Vance Eubanks and Gary Snowden officiating. Interment was in the Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Robert/Reed-Culver Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Selan to the First Christian Church Education Fund.
