She was at the home of her daughter in Elk City with her family by her side when she passed on to a better life. Mary Ann was born to Charlie and Maggie Cochran on December 3, 1934. She attended Wyandotte and Chilocco Indian schools, graduating from Chilocco in 1953. She moved to the Copan area in 1954 when she married George McHargue. She was Museum Manager for the Tom Mix Museum in Dewey for 19 years until her retirement in 1993. She was a member of the Wann Baptist Church, Treasurer of the Sundowners Club, and past President of the Copan P. T. O. She is survived by four daughters, Pocahontas Deaton of Elk City, Cherokee Johnson of Los Angeles, Jackie Jeffers of Tulsa, and Peggy Jeffers of Bartlesville. Four sons, Chief and Lonnie of Bartlesville, Walt of South Coffeyville, and Tom of Hollis, OK. Two sisters, Pat Doublehead and Corinna Wolf. Four brothers, Tom, Martin, Jerry Wayne and Sanders, all of Stilwell. Her former husband, George McHargue of Bartlesville, sister-in-law, Effie M. McHargue, 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, George and Price, and two sons Jerry Joe and George Freddie, Jr. Mary Ann was a loving Mother, Grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral service will be 2:00pm Wednesday at the Wann Baptist Church with burial in the Wann Cemetery with services directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home.
