She was married to Elijah "Bud" Rutledge on August 11, 1928 in Wheeler, TX and to this union 7 children were born: Dixie, Bill, Bud, Frank, Nellie, Roy and Troy. She was a homemaker who enjoyed the duties that followed her role as wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Elijah "Bud" Rutledge, 4 brothers, Tom, Ned, Jerome and Dudley Taylor and 1 sister, Sophie Montgomery. She is survived by 2 daughters, Dixie Harlin of Westville, OK and Nellie Rutledge of Nowata, OK, 5 sons, Bill Rutledge and wife Alice of Westville, OK, Frank Rutledge and wife Karen of Westville, OK and Roy Rutledge and Troy Rutledge both of Nowata, OK. 18 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren, 1 sister, Georgie Thompson of Olive Hurst, CA, nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 20, 2002 at 2:00pm in the Roberts Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bill McDaniel officiating. Interment was in the Proctor Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
