Sandlin Cemetery, Alfalfa County, OK Sandlin Cemetery is located in Section 29 Township 25N Range 10W in Alfalfa County. It is located from Helena 5 miles north (1 mile past the correction line), 2 and 1/2 miles west. It is on the north side of the road on a hill about a quarter of a mile into the pasture from the road. William R. Sandlin deeded land for a church and a cemetery in 1923. The church was never built. There have been burials over the years, but there was never any contact with owners of the rest of the land. Lucille Ackley (Fuson) and Ruth Ann (Fuson) Stanley still own the farm. Lucille recalls markers have disappeared from several graves. Other graves do not have stones. Most of the graves are in one row with a few grouped at the south end. This cemetery is no longer used. The picture shows a view of the cemetery from the road, and you can see the two white spots are tombstones. The stones at the top of the picture shows the condition of this cemetery. This was not actually surveyed because of the conditions of the pasture.
