All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Angell, Mona 1934 - 2005 Mona Angell's spirit passed from this life to the next on Tuesday, May 24, 2005, after a valiant struggle with cancer that lasted eight years. She will be remembered as she wanted to be, a devoted wife, proud mother and trusted friend. Memorial service: 10 a.m. Saturday at Christway Baptist Church in Springtown. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Dr., Arlington. Burial: Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials: Donations to Gideon International are requested. She was born Mona Rae Ross on June 5, 1934, in Cherokee, Okla. She was adopted by the Rev. G.T. Adams at age 2 and raised by loving parents in Arlington. She graduated from Arlington High School in 1951. She was married to Louis Angell for 52 years and raised two sons. She had been a self-employed seamstress in Arlington for 25 years. Her life of Christian service touched untold lives and successfully met her two main goals in life: to be a close friend to everyone she met, and to show that people are more important than things. Her life as a seamstress enabled her to engage in the lives of others, adding her wisdom, cheerfulness, and her persistent positive outlook, one she held to the very end. She was a successful church leader, teacher, counselor, volunteer, writer and listener. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Landon. Mona considered her greatest achievement that she made her home a pleasant place for family and visitors. This planet is a better place because she was here to "make lemons into lemonade." Those she reached are accountable to carry on that legacy. Survivors: Her mother; two sisters; two brothers; husband; two sons; and three grandchildren. Published in the Star-Telegram on 5/27/2005. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Alfalfa County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/alfalfa/alfalfa.html
