Saturday, October 21, 2000 at the Chapel of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Cleveland, Oklahoma with the Rev. Blessing A. Yap and the Rev. Orra Compton officiating. Burial was held at 3:00 P.M. at the Carmen Cemetery in Carmen, Oklahoma under the direction of the Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Marie died at the age of 94. Born on January 25, 1906 in Forrest Grove, Oregon, she was the daughter of Oscar W. and Matie (Greek)Reeg. Marie moved with her family at an early age to the Carmen area in Alfalfa County, Oklahoma (was Woods County, back then). Marie was raised and attended school in Carmen. She was married to Wayne Duel on June 15, 1926 in Alva, Oklahoma. The couple raised two children, Keith and Janet. They resided for many years in Carmen, Oklahoma, where Marie served as the Post Master for nearly twenty-five years. Her husband, Wayne, preceded her in death on April 4, 1985. She has been a faithful member of the United Methodist Church most of her life. She has served as a church organist over fifty years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cleveland at the time of her death. Maried moved to Cleveland in 1985 and was one of the first residents of the Baptist Retirement Village. Marie passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2000 at the Cleveland Manor Nursing Home where she had resided for only a short time. In addition to her husband, Marie was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Harvey Reeg, and two sisters, Edith Raney and Alice Mitchell. She is survived by a son Keith Reeg and his wife, Fran M. Duel, of Santa Cruz, California; a daughter Janet C. and her husband, Ed Bridges of Terlton, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Kerry, Ron, Jodi, Kevin (Barry), Todd, and Derek, seven great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
