He was born in Helena, (ALFALFA CO.)Okla., and graduated from Salem High School (MARION CO.) in 1931. He worked in insurance and for International Harvester. In 1947 he returned to Salem from Portland and was parts manager for Harvester until 1960, when he moved to Eugene. (LANE CO.) He worked for Oregon State Highway Department. He moved to Dallas (POLK CO.)six months ago. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Eugene and enjoyed flower gardening. He married Betty in 1934; she died in 1988. Survivors include his daughters, Mary Hedeen of Dallas, and Sharon Leslie of El Cajon, Calif.; brother, Thomas of Dallas; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visiting will be 1-8 p.m. today at Bollman Funeral Home. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the mortuary.
