From the Enid Morning News, Tuesday, March 24, 1953, page 6. Gertrude Gunn Gertrude Gunn, 62, of 802 West Elm, died in an Enid hospital Sunday morning after an illness of only a few days. Born in Caldwell, Kansas, she came to Oklahoma with her parents at the opening of the Cherokee Strip, settling on a farm near Goltry where she lived until 26 years ago, when she came to Enid. Miss Gunn had been employed in several ladies ready-to-wear stores of Enid. She was a member of the Central Christian Church and is survived by one sister, Mrs. Charles Wicker of Emporia, Kansas; one brother, W. O. Gunn of Enid; six nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday in the Henninger-Allen Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ray E. Snodgrass officiating.
