Loyd Eugene Hoefer

SMITHVILLE - Loyd Eugene Hoefer, 78, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 1999.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Wood-Dunning Funeral Home Colonial 
Chapel at Plainview with the Rev. Don Hill, minister of Calvary Baptist 
Church in Tulia, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery at 
Plainview.


Mr. Hoefer was born in Driftwood, Okla., and lived in Englewood, Calif., 
before moving to Kress in 1977. In Kress, he was a member of First Baptist 
Church, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Elks Lodge and Senior 
Citizens. He retired as a carpenter in 1972. In 1992 he moved to the 
Bastrop area and lived in the Towers Nursing Home in Smithville.

He married Helen J. Conde in 1947.

Survivors include his wife of Bastrop; a son, Kirk Hoefer of Bastrop; a 
daughter, Candy Gerber of Bayfield, Colo.; a sister, Johnnie Fay Green of 
Los Angeles; and six grandchildren.
