Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Mahaffey

Aged Woman Dies Here Friday

Funeral services were held Sun. June 8 1958
at 2:30 p.m. in the First Congregational
church at Goltry for Mrs. Elizabeth Ann
Mahaffey, 96, who died here (Laverne)
at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Green
Hilderbrand Friday afternoon, after a
long illness.  Rev. Octavia Leighty
officiated.  Burial was in the Karoma
cemetery, with Voss Funeral home
in charge.


Mrs. Mahaffey came to Oklahoma in
1894 and settled on a farm three miles
south of Goltry, where she had made her
home until the past few years, when she
made her home with her children due to
ill health.  She had made her home here
with her daughter for three or four years.

Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Pansy
Nelson, Carrier;  Mrs. Inez Nelson, Goltry;
Mrs. Lydia Hilderbrand and Mrs. Etta
Hilderbrand, both of Laverne; three sons,
Clyde of Logan;  Owen of Springtown, Ark.;
Embert of Seattle, Wash; one brother, Glen
Moody of Cherokee; 31 grandchildren and
several great grandchildren.
