All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Llano Cemetery--Amarillo TX Richard "Gene" McLane Richard "Gene" McLane, 80, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Dale Jones, pastor of Summit View Church of the Nazarene in Kansas City, Mo., and the Rev. Ron Sullivan, pastor of South Georgia Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Private family burial will take place. Mr. McLane was born July 13, 1923, in Carmen, Okla. He married Helen Michael on June 10, 1950, in Colorado Springs, Colo. He served in the Army during World War II and pastored Pilgrim Holiness churches during the 1950s. He opened the Montgomery Ward store in Western Plaza as department manager for housewares, cameras, office furniture and later the jewelry department. He was an avid gardener and attended South Georgia Church of the Nazarene where he taught adult Sunday school class. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kathy Jones and husband, Dale, of Kansas City, Mo.; a son, Michael McLane and wife, Rachel, of Olathe, Kan.; and seven grandchildren, Mark Jones, Stephen Jones, Sandee Jones, Michelle McLane, Phillip McLane, Timothy McLane and Benjamin McLane.
