Myers, Pioneer citizen of Carmen, were held Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. from the Methodist church with Rev. Finley Reid officiating. Interment was in the city cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Wentworth mortuary. The following obituary was read During the services: Christopher C. (Columbus) Myers, son of Anthony and Rebecca MEYERS, was born in Fort Wayne, Ind., January 12, 1862. He moved to Kansas with his parents in 1864 and there grew to manhood. In 1881 he was married to Miss Sadie Faulk. To this union were born four children: Murrell of Carmen; Earl of Tyler, Texas; Mrs. Gladys Koonce of Atlanta, Kans.; and Mrs. Maude Martin who preceded her father in Death, Sept 16, 1933 Mr. and Mrs. Myers and their family moved to Carmen in 1903 where they have since made their home. Mr. Myers passed away January 6, 1937 at the age of 74 years, 11 months and 24 days. Left to mourn his passing are his wife and three children; one brother, Austin Myers of Mulhall, Okla.; nineteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren and many other relatives and a host of friends. Mr. Myers was a carpenter in the Carmen vicinity for a number of years prior to his being janitor at the Carmen public schools for the past eleven years School was dismissed and business places closed during the funeral hour in reverence to Mr. Myers. ________________________ Card of Thanks We wish to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to our many friends for their acts of kindness shown to us during the recent illness and death of our beloved husband and father; also for the beautiful floral offerings.
