She died Sunday, November 16, 2003 at St. Mary's Hospital in Enid after a courageous battle with cancer. Glennis is survived by her husband of the home, her daughters, Lisa and son-in-law Tom Chace of Cherokee and Lori of Chicago, Ill.; three grandchildren Kelsie Rae, Kelby Thomas and Kade Franklin; a sister, Lydetta Collar of Cherokee; two brothers, Gary and wife Joyce of Arnett, and Clifton and wife Connie of Ardmore; brother-in-law Butch Porter and wife Rita of Cherokee; sister-in-law Nelda Brady and husband Larry of Hugoton, Kan.; special friends Corky and Loreta Green of Carmen; several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws, Merle and Nellie Veryle Porter. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Cherokee Elementary School library fund with the funeral home serving as custodian. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003 at the First United Methodist Church in Cherokee with Rev. James W. Edmison officiating.
