Alva Review Courier 3 Aug 2005 Beatrice Maurine Schwartz, 87, Topeka, Kan. Beatrice Maurine Schwartz, 87, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, August 1, 2005. Beatrice was born May 19, 1918 in Alfalfa County, Oklahoma, the daughter of Elton James and Pearl Maude Wyscaver Murphy. She was the youngest of five children. She married Leslie Schwartz on June 6, 1938 in Enid, Oklahoma. They farmed in North Central Oklahoma until retirement in 1987 when they moved to Topeka. Leslie preceded her in death in 1990. Beatrice enjoyed sewing, spending time with her family and the companionship of her dog, Susie. Survivors include a son, Richard Schwartz and wife, Connie of Topeka, two grand daughtrers; Stacey Meier and husband, Chris of Topeka, Shannon Gregg and husband, Kevin of Mayetta, two great grandsons, Hunter Meier and Dylan Gregg along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2005 at the Crestview United Methodist church. Beatrice will lie in state at Penwell- Gabel Mid Town Chapel after 2 p.m. on Wednesday and visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A visitation will be held on Thursday evening at Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. in Kiowa from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Graveside service will be Friday, August 5, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Riverview Cemetery.
