All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery--Burlington OK Alva Courier Review 31 Nov 2003 Elmer Charles Tanner, 100, Alva Elmer Charles Tanner, 100, went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 17, 2003 at Share Medical Center in Alva. Funeral services will be Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Apostolic Christian Church with Rev. Ron Allenbach and Jeff Bahr officiating. Interment will be in the apostolic Christian Church Cemetery at Burlington. He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church. memorials may be made to the Apostolic Christian Church Fund. Elmer, son of Henry and Ida Tanner, was born Dec. 3, 1903, at home east of Burlington. He graduated from Burlington High School with the class of 1923. On Jan. 22, 1926, he married Alice B. Anlicker. To their marriage two daughters, Valeta Arlene and Ruth Ann, were born. Following their marriage they lived at Driftwood several years and then moved to the farm west of Burlington. Elmer farmed until his retirement in 1968. In 1977 he resumed farming with his son-in-law until he was 90 years old. Elmer and Alice built a home in Kiowa, Kan. in 1966 and lived there until March 2003 when they moved to Alva to live with their daughter. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Mary and Dorothy, one brother, Floyd, and son-in-law, Jim Shaw. Elmer is survived by his wife, Alice; two daughters, Arlene and her husband Bob Farney of Phoenix, Ariz.; Ruth Ann Shaw of Alva; two granddaughters, Pam Finley and husband Rev. Pat Finley, Winchester, Ky.; Tonya Rehanek and husband, James, Claremore; five great grandchildren, Kyle, Kayla and Kameron Finley, and Megan and Jenna Rehanek.
