The family home is at 303 South Illinois, Cherokee. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the chapel of the Darnall Funeral home, with the Rev. T.R. Crown officiating. Burial will be in the Enid cemetery. The pallbearers will be Kenneth Schardein, Bill Murray, Gile Church, Paul (Max) Myers, Earl Hatfield and Virgil Hixson. Mr. Wheeler was born in Springfield, Mo., and came from there to a farm near Woodward in 1898. He later moved to Waynoka and came to Enid in 1932. Two years ago he went to Cherokee. Mr. Wheeler was employed by the state highway commission. He was a member of the Methodist church. Surviving are his wife, Ida A., of the home, two daughters, Mrs. Leona Gower, Great Bend, Kans., and Lilliam Wartick, Waukomis; nine sons, Perry J. of Bartlesville; Ernest W. of Denver, Colo.; Paul of Ponca City; Elvin, Howard, and Ed of Enid; Harvey jr., of Visalia, Calif.; and Irvin and Vaughn of Alva; three setp-sons, Cloyd Williams, Enid; John Williams, Hillsdale; and Bill Raymond Williams, of California; one sister, Mrs. Emma Johnson, of Enid; one brother, Roy Wheeler of Wellington, Kans.; 45 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Alfalfa County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/alfalfa/alfalfa.html
