Co. 4th Dist. Mo., became Co. "D" 16th Cav. Mo. Militia U.S.A. Reed Lawrence appears on Company Muster-in and Descriptive Roll of the organization named above. Roll dated Springfield Mo., Aug 4, 1864, born Yancy, Mo., age 18 years; occupation farmer. Enlisted June 3, 1864. Enlisted at Marshfield, Mo. Period of enlistment 20 months. Eyes Blue, hair light, complexion fair, height 5 ft, 9 in. Wounded left knee, shotgun. Mustered out, July 1, 1865. Retained U.S ; 1 waist belt and plate 35 cents; gun sling 16 cents, 1 pistol complete, retained $8.00; clothing or money adv'd $46.67; Horse $140.00. NOTE: Reed Lawrence draw a Civil War pension until his death April 27, 1916 in Stringtown, Oklahoma. Later Amy Lawrence as his widow draw the Pension until her death Dec 14, 1932 in Stringtown, Oklahoma. -------------------
