Mrs. Hoffman, 96, of Medford, died Saturday (April 6, 2002) at Hearthstone in Medford. She was born July 14, 1905, in Beaver County, Okla., to Walter W. and Minnie Mae (Crosno) Turner. On May 13, 1924, in Tulsa, Okla., she married Fred Hoffman, who died in 1972. They came to the Rogue Valley in the early 1940s. Mrs. Hoffman was a member of Family Life Bible Church of Ashland. She enjoyed writing Christian poetry and gardening. Survivors include five daughters, Lilly Powers, Talent, Marge Ward, Medford, Marie Hoffman, Ashland, Jean Nelson, Yuba City, Calif., and Irma Dahlke, Elverta, Calif.; 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Leo and Glynn; four brothers; and a sister. Friends may pay their respects from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Litwiller-Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland.
