A LETTER WRITTEN BY FRANK HALE FROM TEXOLA OKLAHOMA IN 1930.
HE USED BEAUTIFUL OLD ENGLISH AND WROTE IN PURPLE INK.
FRANK WAS MARRIED TO MY MOTHER FOR A SHORT TIME. HE DIED IN SEPTEMBER 1930 AND
IS BURIED AT TEXOLA. I HAVE SEEN HIS GRAVE MANY TIMES BUT I WAS ONLY A CHILD. 
IT HAD RED BRICKS AROUND IT.
 Edith Sechrist Hale from Beckham Co Married Frank in 1930 he also died in 1930

                                     Jan. 3 1930

Dear Moma,
Received your letter this morning , and will try and answer it now.Hoping this
will find you and all alright, we are alright so far.
      I am not working no where yet, but may get a job help running the Pool 
Hall, hope so cause If I dont  I am going to leave this dam place. I am
not going to lay around this summer like I did last year. and we cant do
no carpenter work for another week if we was to get a job.There is 10
inches of snow on the ground, and it is clouding up again.Maybe snow in
for two or three weeks who can tell.
       So Spud is coming back here, he better stay where he is cause there want
 be nothing for him  here this year besides the trip want be good for him.
        Yes Moma she got the money we sent for Billies birthday alright and 
Billie is as sweet as ever.
         Fat is still the same old Fat loud as usual but always good hearted, 
but we dont run around together like we use to, I dont run around with none of 
the boys here now.I guess I am getting to old (no one reason is (I am going with
 a girl at Sayre) now, go down there once a week pretty nice girl she has been
married but was only married a month and her husband got killed, now listen 
just cause I am telling you who I was going with  that is not the sign I
am going to get married.And dont think I am running around with trash or
undecent girl. This girl is only 19 and straight as a pencil and one thing
is I can call at the house if this snow ever lets up, it took me two hours
to drive from Sayre to here and this is only 23 miles, couldnt see 50 feet
ahead and like to froze before I got home.
            Got a letter from Gwyndylen Harris and she said to tell you hello.
Well I must close and as this is getting close to supper and I am the Cook.
